Frequent AEW Guest Mina Shirakawa Out Indefinitely Following Injury

Mina Shirakawa, a World Wonder Ring Stardom star, made a huge splash in 2024, largely due to her numerous appearances in AEW. With Shirakawa beginning the year with a high-profile match against Mercedes Mone at Wrestle Dynasty, it appeared that 2025 would be just as successful for the joshi star. However, Mone won the match and Shirakawa’s RevPro Undisputed British Women’s Championship.

Shirakawa’s situation unfortunately took a slight turn for the worse during the weekend. Early on Tuesday morning, Stardom revealed on X that Shirakawa had been hurt during the 14th Anniversary Supreme Fight. The type of injury was not disclosed by the marketing. only stating that Shirakawa would be out for “an unspecific period,” while also wishing her a “speedy recovery.

This past Sunday, Shirakawa participated in an eight-woman tag match against Azusa Inaba, Momo Watanabe, Rina, and Thekla of HATE. She was paired with Empress Nexus Venus stablemates HANAKO, Maika, and Waka Tsukiyama. Before today’s announcement from Stardom, there had been no news regarding Shirakawa’s condition, and it’s unclear where she was hurt during the battle.

The injury ensures that AEW fans will not be seeing Shirakawa for the foreseeable future in addition to her time away from Stardom. Given that Shirakawa hasn’t been included in AEW plans since losing to long-time buddy Mariah May for the AEW Women’s World Championship at “Dynamite: Winter is Coming” last December, that might have been the case anyhow.
