Shawn Spears Claims First WWE Singles Title by Defeating Tony D’Angelo for NXT North American Title

On this week’s edition of WWE NXT, Shawn Spears defeated Tony D’Angelo to win the NXT North American Title, his first WWE singles title.

Despite his best efforts, D’Angelo’s recent back problems ultimately brought him to ruin. Both sides interfered throughout the match, resulting in a fight between D’Angelo’s family and Spears’ squad. The pivotal moment occurred when D’Angelo was unintentionally knocked onto a steel chair, further hurting his back.

He tried to continue fighting, but during a Spinebuster attempt, his back failed, and Spears won.

On March 18, Trick Williams will make his NXT Underground debut against Eddy Thorpe.

Following Thorpe’s victory over Kale Dixon on the March 4 episode of WWE NXT, Williams accepted Thorpe’s challenge after a fierce battle and a defeat to Thorpe at WWE NXT: Vengeance Day.

Williams will be competing in the NXT Underground for the first time, whereas Thorpe has experience there.

The match was formally revealed on this week’s NXT program, and Jordynne Grace will take on Roxanne Perez at WWE NXT Roadblock on March 11. When Grace, the TNA Knockouts Champion at the moment, began making appearances on NXT TV and challenged Perez for the NXT Women’s Championship at NXT Battleground in 2024, their rivalry began.

Masha Slamovich, the TNA Knockouts Champion, made an appearance on this week’s WWE NXT broadcast. Prior to Cora Jade’s matchup with Jordynne Grace, she was shown. However, because of a possible injury to Jade, the game was called off.
